Graduation

Here it is.  The Last day of school in 16 and a half years.  I was thinking about that today, as I worked fatigue and fracture mechanics problems in my final exam, and came to the conclusion that in the last 16 years I have spent around 29,000 hours in or around a class room.  That is quite a large portion of my life, and now I have to find a way to fill that void.  Once I find a job I'm sure that I will have little trouble taking up at least 8 hours a day, but until I find that job I think that possibly a new hobby is in order.
If not a new hobby I think that I will re-investigate one of my older hobbies.  Now that I have more time I think that some Photoshoping is in order and there are quite a back log of Photoshop tutorials that I need to watch.  Also I could work on my soap making hobby.  Since I have still only made one batch of soap in my life there is a lot of things that I can improve, and I would greatly like to make one more half size soap batch before I leave for Australia.

And than there is Australia.  I can't wait to go "down under" and see Leighton.  It's one of the things I am looking forward to most I think, probably even more than Christmas. :)  Today I looked up one of the world premier climbing areas that is located near Sydney.  It is called The Grampians and, from what I read and have heard from fellow climbers, it is considered a premier climbing destination throughout the world.  I have found a pretty good site for information on the climbing and will continue to investigate this awesome climbing possibility.

For my first blog post I feel that was pretty good.  It sure is strange putting down what I'm thinking into text (it's also probably hard to read because I'm all over the place), but I'm sure things will get easier as I continue to post.

  1. We'll always find something to fill the void. Just because you're done in a classroom for now also doesn't mean you're done learning. I can't wait to get some updates on Australia.

  3. Hey Man
Chase your desires, they will show you the way to what you want. Youth has its advantages, it allows you to take time to see and experience what is out there, this gives you opportunity to decide your direction and move accordingly. You now have a set of tools to use to get you what you want. You will go far, good luck, have fun in Australia.
