Black and White

I am working on a new photo album on Picasa that is full of only black and white shots.  I have not worked around with black and white much, but I have always really liked other peoples photos and the way that black and white can really bring out contrast and shadows.
I hope to do some experimentation with this photo style as my trip progresses and I will post them onto my Picasa page as I make new ones.  Here are a few that I took recently that I really like.  You can see all of them on my Picasa page.

This picture of the Palm Beach Lighthouse is probably a little dark but i still like
the way the clouds contrast the lighthouse.

I think that abstract is always fun with black and white photography and I like
how this picture both blurs with depth as well as darkens.

I would really like to be able to take pictures of people without getting  flustered.
People add a lot more variation and emotion to a picture I think, but it
always makes me nervous to photograph them.

I really like the darks and lights that I found in this picture of a sandstone cave.
