Sydney Botanical Garden

I took a trip into Sydney today to the Botanical Garden.  Its located just next to the opera house and Sydney bridge and its a wonderful place.  I only was able to spend a few hours there and so I couldn't see very much of it but what I did see made me really want to go back.
Just to give you a little perspective this garden, or park, is located in the middle of Sydney and covers 30  hectares (about the size of 56.1 American football fields).  The park includes trees, flowers and shrubbery from across the world and has been around since 1816 making it nearly 200 years old.  Here are a few pictures I took while I was walking around.  I would like to go back and take a lot more of the amazing vegetation they have there.

Dracaena Draco (Dragon's Blood tree)
native to the Canary Islands, and can live for up to 600 years in the wild.  This tree is over 100 years old.  The common name of 'dragon's blood tree' comes from the bright red resin the tree produces.  One of the may uses for the resin was the production of a varnish used by violin makers.
